Not only is Hampton's 125,000-seat Atlanta Motor Speedway (AMS) a world-class oval track and site of NASCAR races, it has been featured many times in films and TV shows. Scenes from "Smokey and the Bandit 2," "Stroker Ace," "Six Pack," "Zombieland,"and "Necessary Roughness," have been shot around the track. And many driving scenes have been shot on the spur off Georgia State Route 20 that leads to the facility, including post-apocolyptic scenes of highway ruin in "The Walking Dead" and "Zombieland." Most of the rural driving scenes for "Identitiy Thief" were also filmed on SR 20 near Hampton. Most recently, "Hunger Games: Catching Fire" set the Chariot Parade at AMS and Ron Burgundy's RV flips over nearby in "Anchorman 2."
